The Advantages of Using Fraxel Laser Treatment
The fraxel laser treatment is an exceptional laser technology which is non invasive and confronts the acne scars from their base itself with the help of a set of laser beams which get deep into the skin and induces formation of new collagen.
The collagen makes the acne scars shallower and smoother by filling them up. Most of the symptoms which are associated with aging are actually damages to the skin induced by sun which harms the collagen fibers that are responsible for making the skin support system. Earlier when laser treatment for skin like fraxel laser treatment was not discovered, removal of wrinkles was done by the traditional face lifting method which involved cutting ones skin and then lifting it which did not help in the repair process of damaged collagen.
So the wrinkle reduction was only for a limited time period and after that the wrinkles returned. In laser treatment of skin, the damaged collagen fibers is removed and in its place the formation of new collagen fibers is induced, therefore the results are long lasting and does not require the use of knife. It also gives ones face a natural look unlike traditional facelift which makes the face look like it has been pulled up very tightly.
The process of skin treatment by laser resurfacing involves the use of laser beams made from either Erbium or Carbon Dioxide that help in the removal of damaged skin. This process needs to be carried out with a lot of care and attention to make sure that only the damaged skin is removed and the healthy skin remains untouched from the laser beams.
After the removal of damaged skin, new layer of healthy skin takes its place which is formed from the oil glands and hair follicles which are not sun damaged. The new collagen fibers which are formed provide more strength and elasticity to the skin by forming tight bands which makes the skin surface compact and as a result of this, the wrinkles disappear for a long time until sun inflicts further damage.
Initially when laser treatment of skin started, Carbon Dioxide lasers were used. Although they provided long lasting and amazing results in a very short span of time, there were many side effects associated with it which limited its use.
The heat produced by the lasers made up of Carbon Dioxide caused redness of skin for a long time and many times, the heat generated by this laser also caused a little discoloration of skin. Erbium laser has an advantage over Carbon Dioxide laser as it does not release any heat into the skin and causes very negligible reddening and discoloration of skin. The results provided by the Erbium laser are great but it is new and its long term side effects are not very well known.
